THATCHAM’S Wyevale Garden Centre has been supporting Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal this year.
The store on the A4 Bath Road will donate 10 per cent from the price of all daffodils to the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign, which asks people to give a donation and wear one of its daffodil pins throughout March.
Wyevale Thatcham shop manager and charity champion Mike Forster said: “We’re
hoping people will come down to the centre and help us support Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
“Any purchase of fresh-cut or potted daffodils will help Marie Curie nurses care for people living with a terminal illness, so they can spend more time with the people they love.
“Daffodils are a great way to brighten your home or garden, and make the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, and ours come with the added benefit of raising money for Marie Curie.”
The garden centre is supporting Marie Curie as part of a two- year partnership as its first national charity partner in its Gardens for Good community programme, which recognises the benefits that gardens and gardening can bring to
individuals and local communities.
Wyevale garden centres are aiming to raise more than £500,000 nationally from 2014-2016 to help Marie Curie provide care to people with terminal illnesses.
Marie Curie daffodil pins are available at all Wyevale garden centres.
