Thatcham girl lets it go to land Disney role

Nine -year-old Mia stars in Disney Life advert

A Thatcham girl had to ‘let it go’ to land a role in a Disney advert.

Mia Mirchandani, aged nine, has appeared in an advert for Disney Life after impressing talent spotters.

Disney Life is the corporation’s subscription-based video streaming service launched to rival Netflix and Amazon Prime.

The service contains Disney films, music, books, television programmes and games in one app.

Mia got the part after seeing a call-out for a big brand TV advert posted on a children’s casting site. Despite knowing it was a long-shot, the excited youngster was determined to do her best in the audition.

Mia had to act surprised and happy after opening a gift before dancing around the room singing from Disney’s 2013 hit

And it paid off with the director saying that Mia was exactly what they were looking for, a child with a sense of innocence and fun.

Mia, who attends Marlston House School in Hermitage, said: “It was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. The rest of the cast and crew were really friendly and funny. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed eating on a double decker bus that was parked on the set. I made some new friends and hope to meet them again one day.”

Proud mother Fiona Mirchandani, said: “We are immensely proud of Mia. She’s a natural in front of the camera, and loves her music and singing... but, most important, she remains enthusiastic at all times and gives it her very best.”

The Disney Life ad is Mia’s first professional acting role and hopes this is the first of many.

Mia is currently rehearsing for school edition, to be performed at Newbury Corn Exchange in January. She has also appeared with her brother, Jayden, in a short film for the Met Film School in London called .
