Thatcham infant and junior schools join forces

Parsons Down Infant (pictured) and Parsons Down Junior schools will officially become a partnership on Monday, following consultation with parents.
They have been run under executive headteacher Petrina Winsor since 2011, and the move means that the schools will have a single governing body.
It will be known as Parsons Down Partnership of Schools.
Both schools will continue to be run by Mrs Winsor.
Town and district councillor, Dominic Boeck (Con, Thatcham South and Crookham), said: “I visited both the schools last year and one of the biggest issues of concern was the compromise the headteacher found herself in as the head of both schools and working to two separate governing bodies.
“This is a really positive step forward.”
