Thatcham man caught with child porn walks free from court
Thousands of sick images found
A THATCHAM man who was caught with more than 40,000 child porn images has walked free from court after being handed a suspended sentence.
Robert Sudworth-Jones, of Masefield Road, had previously admitted to possessing the images during a hearing at West Berkshire Magistrates’ Court in July.
However, the case was adjourned to Reading Crown Court for sentencing last week as magistrates felt they did not have sufficient powers to impose a suitable sentence.
Appearing at the sentencing hearing on Thursday, August 11, the 45-year-old was spared jail after a judge handed him a 10- month prison sentence suspended for two years.
He will also be made to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and was ordered to pay £284 in costs.
All the offences were committed at Mr Sudworth-Jones’ home between January 1, 2007, and April 16 last year.
