Thatcham man charged in connection with stabbing in Tilehurst




Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Tilehurst.

Andrew Parker, 37, of the Broadway, Thatcham, was charged yesterday morning (Monday) with a single count of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.

The charge is in relation to an incident which took place in Norcot Road, Tilehurst, just before 5pm on Saturday.

Thames Valley Police reported that, at approximately 4.45pm, a man in his thirties was standing outside The Victoria public house when two men arrived and began fighting with him.

The victim was stabbed and the offenders made off on foot towards Armour Road.

He was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Mr Parker appeared at Reading Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday) and has been bailed with conditions to appear at Reading Crown Court on March 15.
