Thatcham power cut affects care home





According to Steve Andrews the watch manager of White Watch at Tilehurst Fire Station, Reading, one pump from Tilehurst was called at 9.45pm to Fylingdales, the Moors.
"A care worker was trying to get an elderly lady up the stairs with a stairlift and it was inoperable," said Mr Andrews, adding firefighters helped to assist the woman upstairs.
Firefighters were at the scene for about twenty minutes and the electricity board was also in attendance.

UPDATE 11.45am
Southern Electric confirmed a total 75 properties were affected by the 11.30om cut in the Fylingdales area, due to an underground cable fault.
Power was restored to all properties affected by 5am this morning (Fri)
