Thatcham roads to close, in February, to cut down diseased trees
Many trees suffering from ash dieback are to be be cut down in February, resulting in a series of road closures.
Crookham Hill, Thatcham, is to be closed each day from 9am to 4.30pm, from February 21 to 24.
The closure will be in place approximately 100 metres north, toward Thatcham, of its junction with Burys Bank Road, to its junction with Old Thornford Road.
The closure is expected to take place in three parts. The first, will be the stretch of road from the junction of Burys Bank Road northward by around 100 metres toward Thatcham.
Once completed, this will then allow through traffic flow from Burys Bank Road toward Thatcham.
The second closure will be from the junction of Burys Bank Road up to Thornford Park and Crookham House.
The third will then be from Thornford Park to Old Thornford Road.
West Berkshire Council has said that this is an emergency closure for the felling of trees suffering with ash dieback disease.
Residential access will be maintained throughout and diversions will be signed on site.
Blue light access through these works will not be permitted.
