Thatcham Rotarians raise a glass to 2014

The Rotarians and their guests celebrated at the Regency Hotel, with 18 Interactors from Kennet School accompanied by the Head of Sixth Form among the guests.
Club president Mike Cole reflected on the club’s busy activities last year, ranging from the car show in May, to the duck race in July, Youth Speaks in November and Santa Fun Run, all of which raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
Mr Cole also mentioned the club’s involvement with The Newbury Weekly News Over 80’s parcel fund distribution.
He then introduced a series of comic poems read by Rotarians and guests.
A traditional singing of the Twelve Days of Christmas followed.
The evening concluded with Mr Cole proposing a toast to the Rotary Club, and wishing everybody a merry Christmas and a successful 2015.
