Thatcham salon bags Beauty Therapist of the Year award
A Thatcham salon has proved it is a cut above the rest after winning big at a beauty award ceremony.
There was not a hair out of place for All Beauty by Cheryl who bagged Beauty Therapist of the Year at the Beauty Full Awards this year.
The salon in the Old News Hair and Beauty Lounge on High Street in Thatcham said the award came as a very welcome surprise.
The belle of the ball, beautician Cheryl Carroll-Smith, said she was overwhelmed by her win, which was presented by reality star Chloe Ferry on September 28.
The Geordie Shore celebrity, who also runs her own hair and beauty salon, presented the award via an online stream.
Mrs Carroll-Smith – who has lived in Newbury for the past 26 years – only recently opened her salon in the Old Mews but has experience of 30-years in the beauty industry.
Only a month prior she won an award with skincare range Monat after being with the company for only a short period.
Mrs Carroll-Smith said: “The pandemic really hit our industry hard but coming out of it with a drive to succeed has definitely paid off.
“I am overwhelmed at being named as Beauty Therapist of the Year because it has been voted for by industry professionals and finally by a team of celebrity judges – my category being by Chloe Ferry from the famous reality show Geordie Shore.
“I can’t thank all my loyal clients, old and new, enough for supporting me on this journey.”
The awarding body of beauty industry experts said: “‘We look carefully at each application and only those that can show outstanding skills are shortlisted to the finals.
“So All Beauty by Cheryl has shown their quality and standard of work is at a high level to receive this winning title.”
