Kennet School pupil in motorcycle crash outside school premises

A THATCHAM school pupil was hospitalised after being involved in a vehicle collision this afternoon.

Kennet School has confirmed that a Year 11 pupil, who was riding a motorcycle, was taken to hospital with a leg injury following a collision with a car near the school in Stoney Lane, Thatcham.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman, Victoria Bartlett said officers were called to the scene at 1.48pm and were still there an hour later.

She added that the pupil's injuries were not life threatening.

Stoney Lane has been closed to traffic.

South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman, Ngozi Fakeye said that when they arrived at the scene, the 15-year-old was conscious and breathing and they took him to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
