Thatcham singer reaches Open Mic area finals

Charlotte Lloyd-Butler wowed the crowd and judging panel at the Open Mic UK Regional Showcase, held at Sub 89 in Reading last month. The contest, hosted by Future Music, is the biggest search for unsigned talent in the UK.
The competition is divided into age categories – under 16, 16-20 and 21 and over – and all types of singers, vocal performers, groups and acoustic singer-songwriters are invited to enter.
Miss Lloyd-Butler said: “It was a great experience performing at the Reading finals, the venue was really cool, and knowing that some of my favourite bands have played there made it even more special.
" I am so happy to be going through to London with some amazing musicians.”
The Kennet School pupil will now perform at the Area Finals for the chance to progress to the National Grand Final, where she will compete for a £5000 cash prize to spend on developing her act.
