Warings Bakery in Kingsland Centre in Thatcham to close for good
Warings Bakery in Thatcham is closing.
The store, in the Kingsland Centre, is scheduled to close permanently on February 17 at 1pm.
The bakery told its customers: “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers for their continued support and valued custom.
“Our products are available for free home delivery via our website at waringsbakery.co.uk”
Comments of support from customers have been pouring in since the announcement.
“Not another one! Very sad news...” one person said.
“I’ve no idea how all the major coffee shops get all the attention, such a shame,” said another.
Some praised the products, commenting that they will miss their sausage rolls, bacon baps and cakes.
Local business Thatcham Refillable also gave words of support online and encouraged people to support independent shops.
It said: “Sad to hear the Warings Bakery in Thatcham is closing for good on 17th of Feb.
“Tom has had his breakfast from them every Friday when setting up for Thatcham Market.
“Please come and support all the independent shops and market stalls if you can.
“We all need you.”
The closest alternative Warings Bakery is in Reading Road, Burghfield Common.
