And, Anita Loughrey's creations will soon to be available to buy in shops.
Ms Loughrey, who lives in Agricola Way, was approached by BBC AudioGo Books to re-write 20 fairytales. The stories were then narrated and recorded by Episodes actors Tamsin Gregg and Stephen Mangan.
She said: "The stories had to stay the same but the originals are quite gruesome. I had to tone them down as they were for pre-school children.
"These ones are not dark, they have happy endings and they are politically correct."
She said: "When the papers came out,I was very excited every morning; I knew they were going to be in there, but I did go out and buy them.”
And she added “I have never done anything on a big scale like this before."
All six discs will also be available to buy in bookshops from October 20.
Ms Loughrey, has worked as a teacher and deputy head teacher and also had short stories published in magazines including Bella, Best, Take a Break Fiction Feast.
