Thatcham youngsters complete summer charity cycle challenge
Siblings Harry, Will and Florence Stephens, aged 15, 12 and 10, of Park Lane, along with Kieran Peppiatt, aged 13, and Toby Holland, aged 12, took part in a cycle ride from Thatcham to Hungerford Newtown.
It took them just under two hours to complete the 17 miles.
Harry, Will, Kieran and Toby, who all attend Kennet School, will be donating their share to Help for Heroes and Florence, will be giving her money to her school’s new build fund, St Finian’s, Cold Ash.
The challenge was the idea of Toby, who wanted to give himself something to achieve over the summer holidays.
The mother of Harry, Will and Florence, Paula, said: “My daughter only thought she would make it halfway, so they were exhausted but chuffed that they did it. I feel proud of them.
“There were no adults involved, so it was quite good of them to give themselves a personal challenge. They might do it further next year.”
