Thatcham youth disco on a roll

The town's first ever roller disco, which will be held throughout the summer, has been hailed as a success

THATCHAM'S first roller disco event was held at Kennet Leisure Centre last Saturday evening.

Organised by the Neighbourhood Action Group, the roller disco will be a regular event over the summer, held once a fortnight.

Funding came from Thatcham Town Council, Berkshire Association of Clubs for Young People and the Berkshire Community Fund.

The chairwoman of the action group, councillor Stephanie Steevenson, said: “It went very well.

“What we achieved was an entertaining evening in a safe environment.”

The next roller disco will be on Saturday (16), from 7pm to 9pm. Places costs £1 on the door.
