Thatcham's Kennet School wins food and farmers contest
Pupils project around sustainable and organic food
KENNET School pupils could be the farmers of the future if their success in a recent project is anything to go by.
Six pupils participated in the final of the Food and Farming competition, an annual project run in conjunction with Newbury and District Agricultural Society.
The pupils created a recipe book and loyalty scheme based around the sustainable and organic food business model of Sheepdrove Organic Farm in Lambourn.
The Kennet School team were named as the winning project and were awarded £100 prize money and an invite to present their project at the Newbury Show in September from the 2015 chairman of the Royal County of Berkshire Show, George Campbell.
The school congratulated Bedo, Bilal, Annabel, Tom, Kirsten and Osama for their hard work and winning project.
