Boxford: plans for new top restaurant at The Bell

Plans have been submitted to West Berkshire council to redevelop ‘The Bell at Boxford’ into a new thatched restaurant.

The application says the currently disused pub is committed to maintaining a public facility for the local community – reinventing the site as a local landmark on Lambourn Road.

“Our vision for ‘The Boxford’ is to offer food and hospitality of the highest standard based on local, fresh, simply prepared ingredients and warm, skilful service. It’s critical that our team members feel proud of their product and enjoy the environment they work in since that is what ensures guests have a very special experience,” said Alex Fasoli, Director of Operations.

The Bell was a stand-alone inn until the 1980s when housing was developed around it.

The initial design proposals were presented to the local community, in a public meeting organised by the parish council in August with over 80 people attending.
