The Christmas lights are on in Newbury
The warm glow of Christmas lights filled the town tonight (Saturday).
Newbury BID’s annual light switch on drew in thousands this year.
Crowds gathered in the Market Place to watch Father Christmas and the mayor of Newbury Nigel Foot switch on the Christmas lights.
Santa’s grotto was in full swing in the Kennet Centre during the day with children lining up to meet Father Christmas and his elves.
Fun fair activities took place whilst live music filled the High Street – which was lined with stalls selling food, sweet treats and toys.
As the sun set, Newbury switched on its lights following a number of musical acts including Arendelle’s famous Frozen sisters Anna and Elsa.
The Disney pair put on a lively show to hundreds of cheering children singing classics Let it Go and For the First Time in Forever.
Also enjoying the show were two tall jumping elves who took their time out of the busy festive period to meet and greet the little boys and girls.
