The Middletons complain of media intrusion

The complaint concerns photographs of a family holiday published in a number of UK newspapers this week

The Middleton family has complained to the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) after UK newspapers published pictures of the family on board a yacht in Ibiza, including photographs of Pippa Middleton topless.

The photographs, which were published in the News of the World, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and Daily Mirror, show the now Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing with her sister, Pippa, and their mother Carole during a family holiday in 2006.

The Middletons, who live in Chapel Row, believe that the pictures are in breach of the PCC code, since the yacht moored off an island where the family had a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Spokesman for the PCC, Jonathan Collett, said: “I can confirm that we have now received complaints from representatives of the Middleton family concerning photographs published in the News of the World, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and Daily Mirror and we will now consider these complaints.”

Although Mr Collett couldn't confirm how long it would take the PCC to investigate the Middletons' complaints, he said: “The PCC prides itself on investigating matters quickly and effectively.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left their new home in Anglesey, Wales, for their honeymoon in the Seychelles on Monday (May 9), ten days after they married at Westminster Abbey.
