New coffee shop coming to Bartholomew Street in Newbury

There is to be a new coffee shop on Bartholomew Street in Newbury.

The Rufus Coffee Shop has got planning permission for the shop and for offices above it.

The owners are applying to re-fit the inside of the listed property at number 40.

No 40 Bartholomew Street was for many years Hogan Music shop, latterly it became Banjo cycles, but has been empty as a shop since 2017.

The front elevation at ground floor level is largely unchanged and the shop front has been repaired with just the canopy to be finished.

The offices are to be used by Rufus Publication, which occasionally has deliveries of books that arrive on pallets.
