The search is on for talented young singers
A series of free workshops have been put together by Berkshire Maestros and Sovereign Housing to allow keen young singers of all abilities to improve and practise their singing.
Talent spotters from Berkshire Maestros will be scouting the workshops for potential winners of the Berkshire Young Singer of the Year competition, or for those who simply wish to progress their singing through lessons. There will also be an opportunity to join a choir.
Head of voice with Berkshire Maestros, Louise McGahon said: “We want to get as many children singing as possible and this project is a way of reaching out to more communities and generating a bigger interest in singing.”
“We are really keen to see lots of young people turning up to the workshops and hopefully deciding to take their love of singing further.”
Workshops are being held at Kennet School in Thatcham on Tuesday, November 6, from 4.15pm to 5.45pm; Fir Tree School in Newbury will host the second on Thursday, November 8 from 3.30pm to 5pm. John O’Gaunt School in Hungerford will be the final workshop of the year on Friday, November 9 from 3.30pm to 5pm.
Further workshops will be held next year.
