The secret's out - it's Kevin Bridges

Kevin Bridges will be coming to the Corn Exchange, Newbury, in June. Following some mysterious shenanigans at the tail-end of last week where the venue leaked on social media that there would be a big comedy announcement, we can reveal that the hilarious Scotsman Kevin Bridges will be bringing a brand new work in progress show to town on Friday, June 8.
Bridges is the latest in a line of top comedy superstars to grace the Corn Exchange in the past year, with the likes of Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr, Lee Evans, Alan Carr and Lenny Henry all choosing to preview new material at Newbury’s 400-seat arts centre in the Market Place.
Having made his debut on BBC One’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow in 2009, Bridges he has now gone onto host the Bafta-nominated Live At The Apollo and Channel 4’s Stand-Up For The Week.
The Corn Exchange marketing manager, Ian Wilmot, said: “We are delighted to have lured Kevin Bridges to the Corn Exchange this summer. It is testament to the fantastic audiences in Newbury, that we manage to keep attracting the UK’s biggest stars.
“But we are also committed to presenting the best live comedians, not just those on TV, and it is this support for new talent from early in their careers that attracts them all back here once they reach the top”.
Kevin Bridges leads a strong season of comedy at the Corn Exchange and New Greenham Arts which includes Jimeoin, Andy Zaltzman and Police Academy’s Michael Winslow.
