The Vineyard named Restaurant of the Year
Inspired by Californian vineyards, the five-star hotel and restaurant scooped the award: The Decanter /Laurent-Perrier restaurant of the year, issued by the wine publication, Decanter - read in over 90 countries.
Decanter visit a selection of the best restaurants in the UK to narrow down its selection for Restaurant of the Year and after selecting the Vineyard as winners, contributing editor, Brian St. Pierre, praised a large, impressive wine list, and associated wine events programme and said:
“There’s a wine for everybody here, and the tastings and service make it all easy to enjoy,” adding the fact that the food was so good was, he said “A nice bonus.”
The restaurant’s menu is led by Daniel Galmiche (previously of the London, Michelin starred restaurant, Le Gavroche), with an award-winning wine list managed by Alan Holmes.
The Vineyard’s managing director, Andrew McKenzie, said the award was 'A real honour’.
He said: “We’re no stranger to accolades at The Vineyard, and whilst customer satisfaction and enjoyment is our ultimate aim, it’s always a pleasure to receive industry recognition,especially when it rewards our passion for wine.”
