Mr Oxenham, who lives in Lambourn and earns a living as a professional Frank Sinatra tribute singer, caught the 20lb 4oz monster at Speen Moors using a soft 19cm rubber trout lure.
The NAA lists association records on its website and, although the record for pike is unclaimed, the specimen weight at which members can register a potential trophy fish is 20lb.
Mr Oxenham, aged 42, said: “It took about 15 minutes to land her - at that size, it’s a female - because they hop spectacularly out of the water, trying to lose the hook. I joined the NAA six weeks ago and I’d been trying to catch a decent pike twice a week since then. This is certainly my personal best.”
