Therapy centre opens in Thatcham today (Tues)

A NEW facility to help disabled people exercise in a relaxed environment will officially open in Thatcham today (Tues).
West Berkshire Therapy Centre is just off Lower Way, half way between the Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre and the West Berkshire Hospital.
The centre will provide exercise therapy for disabled people, using equipment that provides repeated movement, gently and quietly.
The centre says that it can be difficult for disabled people to take sufficient exercise, which can often mean a risk of putting on weight, poor circulation, stiffness and pain.
It also says that a lack of exercise also risks some serious health problems, of the heart, respiratory and diabetes.
The centre will also help those with physical impairment, as well as with visual or other sensory impairment.
Visitors will be able to book an assessment with one of the centre's qualified physiotherapists, to check that
with the option of a personally tailored programme.
