There's still time to enter battle of the bands contest: Rock at the Racecourse
Greenham Common Trust’s Rock at the Racecourse event aims to also give aspiring rock stars the chance to play live in front of hundreds of people.
The trust, which has teamed up with the Newbury Weekly News, is looking for local, young and talented bands and singer songwriters to enter its ‘battle of the bands’ themed competition.
Any band wanting to enter should submit a live recording on www.YouTube.com and send the link to Julian May at julian@greenham-common-trust.co.uk by Friday, April 13 to have a chance to win.
Entries must include a high resolution photograph of the band or act along with a short profile (150 words maximum).
Seven local acts will be shortlisted by judges and their profiles and videos will be posted on the Rock at the Racecourse page at Newburytoday.co.uk/rockattheracecourse
The shortlist of bands will be announced in May.
After the shortlist has been announced, you can log back here to Newburytoday.co.uk to vote for your favourite act or on the Rock at the Racecourse Facebook page.
Young photographers, music journalism and film makers can also get in touch for the chance to photograph and video the event at Newbury Racecourse on Friday, June 29.
Anyone interested should call (01635) 817407.
