Here’s what you need to know about West Berkshire roadworks to avoid getting stuck in delays or caught out by diversions this week
There are a number of planned roadworks taking place across the district this week, writes Sofia Gilks.
Here we look at some of the biggest roadwork schemes, so you will know when and where to avoid.
The bridge repairs at the M4 Theale Interchange (Junction 12) are still continuing to cause delays, with closures and reduced lanes until March 15.
The east side of the junction has been reduced to two lanes since January 6. From today (Monday, February 10) until March 15, there will be overnight closures of the east side of the junction, including the eastbound on slip to the M4, from 9pm to 6am.
There will also be a full weekend closure of the same area from 9pm on Friday, February 28, until 6am on Monday, March 3.
Theale High Street is still closed one-way, westbound, between Station Road and Hoad Way, due to the ongoing 10 week SGN gas main replacements.
The diversion route is via Church Street, The Green, The Bath Road and Hoad Way.
This closure is due to end on April 22.
Boundary Road in Newbury will be closed for Thames Water to carry out works from February 15 at 1pm until midnight on February 16. A signed diversion will be in place.
Pinchington Lane in Greenham also remains closed from Capability Way to just before Greenham Road due to gas main replacements by SGN.
This closure will remain in place until March 7.
Traffic is being diverted along the A339 and Greenham Road.
Bartholomew Street in Newbury will be shut just past St Michael’s Road from Wednesday (February 12) until Friday (February 14) due to work being carried out by Thames Water.
There will be two-way temporary traffic lights in operation throughout the works.
Oxford Street in Newbury will have multi-way temporary traffic lights between the junctions to Saddlers Court and Old Bath Road from 7am on Monday, February 17 until 5pm on Saturday, February 22.
This will be due to electricity network maintenance.
Also in Newbury, there will be roadworks on Queens Road between the turnings for Jubilee Road and Northway Road on Thursday (February 13) from 8am to 5pm. Temporary obstructions could result in 15 minute delays.
Station Road at Thatcham faces likely delays from 8am on Saturday (February 15) until 5pm on February 19 between Longcroft Road and Oak Tree Road.
Works being carried out by Thames Water means there will be a two-way traffic light system in place.
There will be possible delays at Oddfellows Road tomorrow (Tuesday, February 11), from 8am to 5pm.
There will be an alternating one way system due to the roadworks.
Love Lane in Newbury could face possible delays from 8am on February 19 until 5pm on February 21, due to two-way temporary traffic lights while Thames Water carries out works.
In Thatcham, roadworks on Park Lane - between the roundabout and turning for Parkside Road - could cause 15 minute delays on Friday (February 14) from 8am to 5pm.
