The 36-year-old has more than 130 prior convictions and was previously made subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from Newbury Retail Park.

On Thursday, October 24, Gainey was back in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court.

There, he admitted stealing meat worth £176 from Waitrose on Tuesday, October 8.

Gainey further admitted stealing a selection of meat products, to an unknown value, from the same store on Tuesday, October 1.

Magistrates ordered pre-sentence reports and released Gainey, who was legally represented by Adonis Daniel, on bail with a condition that he does not enter any Waitrose store.
