Thief had shoplifting 'kit'

In the dock was 38-year-old Alan Waters of Southend, Cold Ash.
Helen Waite, prosecuting, said Mr Waters stuffed stolen items up his sleeves and used the bands to stop them falling out.
The court heard he also stuffed packets of meat into his jacket on another occasion and tried to leave without paying.
Mr Waters, who had recently been released on licence from prison for other offences, admitted stealing washing tablets worth £66 from the Co-op in Thatcham on July 4 this year and stealing meat worth £63.96 from Waitrose in Newbury on May 21 this year.
His solicitor, who declined to be named, said: “He was feeling very unwell as the effects of heroin were wearing off. He was going to sell the items.”
Magistrates bailed Mr Waters until August 8 while pre-sentence reports are prepared.
