Robert Edward Jones, aged 37, of Berrow Road, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, admitted stealing £16,654.61 from Charter Travel, Hambridge Road between October 31, 2010, and August 20, 2013.
Helen Waite, prosecuting, told Newbury magistrates on June 19, that Mr Jones had a long- standing drug habit, “hence the thefts”.
Mike Davis, defending, said his client was making progress in addressing the issue, but magistrates deemed their powers of punishment insufficient, and put Mr Jones on bail for sentencing by a judge sitting at Reading.
