Thieves steal charity shop money box




Police seek help in finding a donation box that was stolen from Age UK shop

A DONATION box has been stolen from a charity shop in Tilehurst.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following incident at the Age UK shop, in School Road, Tilehurst, at around 4.35pm last Friday (February 4).

A dark wooden box, which has a cork at the bottom and a coin slot in the top, was taken from the shop counter.

The shop had emptied the box the day before the theft, and a minimal about of money was taken.

The offender, a white man, got on a bike and cycled off towards Tilehurst Triangle.

Dc Jon Nicholls, fromn the Reading Priority Crime Team, said: “I would be keen to hear from anyone who has found a box matching this description dumped in the Tilehurst area.

“I would also like to trace any witnesses to the incident and anyone who saw a cyclist in a florescent jacket in the area at the time.”
