Thornford Road closed due to burst water pipe
Thames Water is yet to confirm how the pipe burst, but engineers from the water company are currently at the scene alongside workers from West Berkshire Council.
It is not the first time Thames Water has had a problem in the road; on September 11 the water firm claimed to have fixed a fire hydrant that had been leaking water for several months.
Crookham Common resident, Michael Barnes said his wife, Claire, had reported that particular leak to Thames Water on a number of occasions before it was fixed.
“It’s frustration that they can bully their customers into saving water but they can’t fix their own leaks,” he added.
West Berkshire Council has advised motorists to seek alternative routes while the leak is being fixed.
