Thousands race across world for climate action
An international race is currently under way to raise awareness about climate change.
Thousands of runners, cyclists and sailors are attempting a record-breaking 7,767 kilometre relay race across 18 countries.
The 'Running Out of Time' campaign started on Friday, September 30, in Scotland and will finish in Egypt on Sunday, November 6.
Runner, Keith MacIntosh handed over the baton to David Startley at the The Corner Stores in Kintbury at 9.40am on Friday, October 7.
Mr Startley had already run 10k from Newbury that morning.
He said: "I am a member of an international community of runners pledging and acting to make the world a greener, fitter planet.
"I belong to TheGreenRunners.com."
The baton continued on to Reading that afternoon.
People can track the relay's progress live at https://running-out-of-time.com/
The baton contains an important message about climate action, which will be presented to world leaders attending the COP27 United Nations climate change conference in Egypt in November.
