Thousands run in Newbury Race For Life

Thousands of local women entered the 5k race, many of whom ran, walked or jogged in memory of a friend or family member who has been diagnosed with cancer.
As well as the all pink attire there were also hula skirts, cowboy hats, crazy wigs and fancy dress outfits on display.
Manager of the Newbury race, Lea Blake said: “The atmosphere at Race for Life was electric, with women from all walks of life coming together to make a positive difference to everyone affected by cancer.”
Thanks to the generosity of its supporters, Cancer Research UK was able to spend nearly £28 million last year in the south east alone on leading scientific and clinical research.
