Three openings for Newbury town centre
Pret A Manger will open in Northbrook Street, creating 18 new jobs.
General manager Martin Padwick said that, as a local resident, he was proud to be opening the store, and of the firm’s policy about food waste.
He said: “As always, any unsold sandwiches at the end of each day will be donated to local homeless charities.”
Another new shop is set to open up in the town centre later this month.
Tog24, a ski and outdoor wear shop, has signed a 10-year lease with Parkway shopping centre.
The retailer is currently fitting out the ground and first floor of its unit in East Street – adjacent to Ecco and opposite Costa Coffee – and is expected to open at the end of the month.
However, it’s not all about chain stores, as two weeks ago independent salon Parkway Nail Boutique took over a unit next to Energie gym, Park Way.
