Tea-time assortment at Hampshire village
THE Shipinnarts audience were treated to some “heartwarming performances” by Belle Canto Trio and Alison Pickering, at the Autumn Leaves concert on Saturday, October 14, reports Vanessa Martin from the Ashford Hill venue.
“What a very special afternoon at Shipinnarts (Ashford Hill) we had on Saturday afternoon!
“Thank you to all who came along too.
“Belle Canto Trio, (Gabriele McKeown, Heather Sims and Helen Marlow) accompanied on the piano by Sarah Scotchmer, performed the most beautiful songs and very theatrically presented too, with fabulous costumes and props – it was truly spectacular.
“ Belle Canto sang a variety of music, among them Blue Skies, Bring Me Sunshine, Singing in the Rain, Autumn Leaves, Stormy Weather and Thank You for the Music.
“Alison Pickering (pianist) played some well known favourites and show songs.
“A three-tiered tea was served delicious sandwiches and savoury and sweet treats filled up the tiers.
“We so hope Belle Canto can come again in 2024.”
The next event at Shipinnarts is a Singing Workshop, which welcomes everyone, whether you think you can sing, or not.
