Time to cool off at Northcroft Lido

As temperatures soared into the high 20s, with Sunday recorded as the hottest day of the year so far, thousands descended on the pool to escape the heat. The outdoor pool will be open from 7am until 8.30am for lane swimming and then 12.15pm until 7pm for general swimming and will be open from 10am until 6pm on weekends.
Contract manager Alex Godfrey, said: “We have our refurbishment of the indoor changing rooms going on at the moment and we can’t have primary school children changing at the same time as members of the public.”
The pool can expect to get even busier when the school holidays begin on July 22, when the pool will be open from 7.15am until 8.45am and then 11am until7pm.
Work to convert the changing rooms into a new ‘changing village’ - new cubicles, lockers and a new entrance to the pool as well as improvements for disabled access is expected to be finished at the end of September.
