TK Maxx gears up for Comic Relief

Three staff at the Kennet Centre store took the theme to the extreme, and spent their shift locked in cages outside the store to rack up additional funds.
A total of £257 was raised over Friday and Saturday, with each employee paying £1 to take part, but this is only one event that the store has lined up to raise money for the charity.
On Wednesday five staff members embarked on a cycle ride from Newbury to Reading, while a quiz night is being held at Document House, Wharf Street, on Sunday, March 3 at 7pm.
Entry will be £1 per person and the winner will walk away with a trophy.
Also, from Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3, Pixi Photo will be in store, donating £1 directly to the charity for each person that pays to have a professional photograph in store.
The following weekend, staff will be heading to work dressed in their favourite pyjamas for another donation and children’s games and face painting will be held in store.
On March 15, staff members will be dancing in the store window as a final fundraising feat.
This will all go on top of the £140 already raised through a car boot sale and ‘dress in red’ day.
Duty manager at the store, Tamara Laing, said staff enjoyed getting involved.
She said: “It boosts morale, everyone gets involved and they look forward to it.
“It’s important that we raise money for Comic Relief.”
