Today's (Sun) events in and around Newbury

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life will be taking place at Newbury Showground from 10.30am.
Last year, 1,779 women took part in Race for Life in Newbury and raised a £112,563.
As part of the event, women and girls will run, walk or jog 5km.
Whether you are male or female, why not go along and show them your support.
Also today, Tadley Runners' 19th road race takes place at 11am at the Hurst Community College, Brimpton Road and Twist Kingsclere five mile multi-terrain run takes place at the Fieldgate Centre at 11am.
Later on a Newbury youngster is going to new lengths to raise money for cancer research, following the news that her grandmother had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Kaitlin Pavitt, aged 16 and who has just completed her GCSE exams at St Bartholomew’s School, will be going under the clippers - courtesy of Lorna, of The Tidy Barber, in Bartholomew Street, Newbury - and shaving off her locks, with hopes to raise more than £500 for the charity.
Se next week’s Newbury Weekly News for photographs from the events.
