Toddler airlifted to hospital

Toddler airlifted to hospital from central Newbury due to burns

A TODDLER was airlifted to hospital from Newbury today (Friday September 16), after suffering burns.

According to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, an 18-month-old boy was airlifted from St George's Avenue, Newbury around 12.45pm, after suffering ten per cent burns to his neck, chest and right arm.

The boy was flown in the air ambulance to the specialist burns unit at Salisbury hospital.

Spokeswoman for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, Laura Nicholas, said the burns were due to hot water.

“We gave him a teddy bear,” added Mrs Nicholas.
