Top jockeys to participate in Pogo Pandemonium today (Saturday)





The jockeys, including AP McCoy, Mick Fitzgerald, Sam Thomas, Dom Elsworth, Andrew Tinkler and Choc Thornton, will swap their horses for pogo sticks to take on eventers Laura Collett, Lucy Jackson, Emily King and Bruce Haskell, in a jump-off to raise funds for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation.
The fundraiser has been organised by former eventer Claire Lomas, who famously walked the London Marathon three years ago in a bionic suit, following a riding accident in 2007 which left her paralysed.
“I am heading towards raising £500,000 to help find a cure for paralysis,” said Ms Lomas.
Tickets for the event, Pogo Pandemonium, are priced at £65 and include entry to an auction, a two-course meal and live music from The Likes.

Folk music will take centre stage as ACE Space hosts Double Duo Gig.
Mark T and Charles Spencer present folk music with early Mediterranean influences. Pagoda duo which includes Paul Hutchinson of Belshazzar's Feast present folk music with a twist of jazz. £8 advanced tickets from Hogan Music Tourist Information events@acespace.org.uk or £10 on the door.
The gig will be held at ACE Space, St Nicolas Road, Newbury at 8pm.
You can also help raise funds for two West Berkshire schools today.
Hungerford Primary School will be holding a jumble sale at the school between 2pm and 3.30pm.
Bring any unwanted cloths, household items, bric-a-brac, books, toys and toys to the school; where there will be cake, refreshments and more.
A jumble sale will also be held at Kintbury pre-school today.
Bring your unwanted items to Preston Hall for the sale, which will be held between 2pm and 3.15pm.
The West Berkshire Ramblers will set off for a 3.4 mile walk around Shaw at 10am.
Meet in the car park in front of Engineering Solutions and Supply in Bone Lane.
In sport, Tadley Calleva host Laverstock and Ford in a Sydenhams Wessex League division one clash.
Kick-off at Barlows Park is at 3pm.
In Hockey, Newbury take on Milton Keynes at the Henwick Worthy Sports Ground.
