Top Lambourn trainer faces fresh inquiry
Nicky Henderson faces disciplinary panel over banned substance
LEGENDARY Lambourn trainer Nicky Henderson is facing an inquiry after a horse tested positive for a banned substance.
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) revealed today(Wednesday) that Heather Royal tested positive for Dexamethasone after a race at Huntingdon in February.
Now the BHA's disciplinary panel will hold an inquiry to consider whether Mr Henderson breached its rules.
In 2009, Mr Henderson was fined a record £40,000 after he was found to have breached the rules after Moonlit Path, which he trains for the Queen, failed a drugs test.
In March last year another horse he trained, Binocular, was withdrawn from a race after medication failed to clear its system at the rate expected.
Mr Henderson won the Cheltenham Gold Cup for the first time with Long Run in March.
The BHA disciplinary hearing is schedled for June 23.
