ITV sports anchor Mark Pougatch to host sporting evening at The Bowler's Arms
One of the country’s top sports presenters is hosting an evening alongside three other famous broadcasters at a Newbury pub.
Mark Pougatch, known for being the lead sport anchor for ITV, is the main attraction at a sporting evening event hosted by The Bowler's Arms in Wash Common on June 16.
Having just presented coverage for the FA Cup final, Mr Pougatch will host an evening of conversation and laughter centred on the world of sport.
He said: “I am delighted to be visiting Newbury.
“We've done a few of these events and the atmosphere is always friendly and knowledgeable. We like to keep it informal so the audience feels involved.”
He will be joined by cricket author Pat Murphy, who has worked on books with Shane Warne, Viv Richards and Wasim Akram.
Racing expert Cornelius Lysaght will be sharing his insight ahead of Royal Ascot, and tennis commentator and Newbury’s very own Jonathan Overend will share his experiences involving some of sport’s biggest names.
Mr Overend said: “As well as our thoughts on this busy summer of sport, the night will be a unique opportunity to hear what some of the superstars are really like.
“Between us we've worked closely with the likes of Jose Mourinho, Andy Murray, Shane Warne, Frankie Dettori, Serena Williams, Brian Clough; the list is endless.”
