Thatcham Town Council installs drinking water fountain on Broadway

Thatcham Town Council has installed a new drinking water fountain in the Broadway.

In the UK, people go through 38.5 million plastic bottles every day – and struggle to recycle even half of those, according to environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage.

But Thatcham’s newest eco-friendly initiative is set to make a splash, offering residents and visitors a convenient way to stay hydrated, while cutting down on the use of single-use plastic bottles.

The drinking water fountain is part of the town council’s broader plan to enhance public amenities across Thatcham.

It also continues its dedication to the Plastic Free Charter adopted earlier this year.

Eco Friends West Berkshire said: “This installation will actively reduce this volume, making Thatcham a greener place to live.”
