Thatcham residents invited to create poppy tribute to honour those who served
Thatcham Town Council is inviting members of the community to create poppy tributes to those who served and died in conflict.
Residents are encouraged to adorn local benches, trees and other public spaces with vibrant knitted or crocheted poppies in a wide display of remembrance, alongside the town council’s own display in the Broadway from Wednesday, November 6.
Individuals, groups and clubs are welcome to collaborate on larger displays or contribute individual poppies.
Donations of individual poppies should be delivered to Thatcham Town Council’s offices, located in Brownsfield Road, by Friday, November 1.
The Town Council are also hosting Poppy Workshop sessions in the Town Council Chamber, where residents can gather to enjoy tea or coffee while working together to combine poppies into beautiful displays for the town.
Workshops are planned for Thursday, October 31 (10am to 1pm) and Monday, November 4 (10am to 1pm).
