Lego creation of Hungerford’s Victorian Extravaganza is on show in the Tutti Pole window
How’s this for some wicked bricks?
Assistant manager at Hungerford’s well known Tutti Pole cafe restaurant, Martin James-Goodall, has created this spectacular Lego diorama of the town’s Victorian Extravaganza.
The scene features iconic buildings including the town hall, the Tutti Pole itself, plus a big wheel, street performers including stilt walkers…and a photographer that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Newbury Weekly News’ own award-winning camera wizard, Phil Cannings, in action.
Mr James-Goodall takes pictures of the buildings he wants to feature before recreating them in minute detail.
Tutti Pole owner Fiona Hobson said: “Martin first did one seven ago and it was so amazing we asked him to keep doing them.
“The attention to detail is amazing - he spends weeks and months coming up with the ideas, planning and then preparing them.
“He even made a crown that fitted on my head during the king’s coronation.
“I know his work gives a lot of people a lot of pleasure.”
Mr James-Goodall now creates dioramas for Hungerford’s big annual occasions such as Remembrance Sunday and the unique Hocktide celebrations.
