Traffic building up on A339 Newbury in both directions as AA says part of the road is blocked

Update: Thames Valley Police has confirmed this was a fatal road traffic collision.

South Central Ambulance Service said it no longer provides information about these types of incidents.

Traffic is moving very slowly on the A339 in Newbury.

Part of the A339 southbound is blocked causing surrounding traffic to build up.

The AA is showing slow moving traffic from the A339 southbound from A343 St. Johns Road to Newtown Road.

The northbound carriageway is also slow due to what the AA called ‘onlookers’.
