Traffic light failure causing havoc for motorists this morning (Tues)





There are still delays of at least 40 minutes on the M4 eastbound between junctions 13 for Chieveley and 14 for Hungerford,
On the A34 northbound between the junctions with the A303 and M4, motorists are experiencing delays of more than 40 minutes.
Some motorists have got in touch to say that it is taking almost two hours to reach the M4 from Newbury.
There are also delays on the M4 westbound between junctions 12 for Theale and 13 for Chieveley.
One motorist took to twitter to vent their frustration, with one, @leewclark, saying: "Yes it's been like this for the last 2 days, 1.30mins from Newbury and I'm not even on M4 yet."
Another motorist, using the twitter handle @dolphindiver said: "Yep still stuck in it. More than 3 hours for what is normally 90 min commute."
One Facebook user, Sarah Maskell, said: "Also causing tailbacks on m4 eastbound due to people trying to push in at the last min. Took hubby 1hr to do a 20 min journey once passed chievely m4 was clear."
Another motorist, Graham Hives, said: "Caused by the same problem we had just yesterday and last week - faulty light phasing at the Junction 13 roundabout.
"Who is responsible for these lights? And surely the police or the Highways Agency could take charge of the lights and free up the gridlock."
Michelle Goldfinch said on Facebook: "Took me 1.5 hours Racecourse to the services, gave up and turned round."
