Great Western Railway announce cancellations due to fault between Theale and Reading

TRAIN cancellations have been announced for today, Tuesday.

Great Western Railway said in a statement: “Due to a speed restriction over defective track between Theale and Reading trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.

“Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

“Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

“We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

“Network Rail have discovered a fault in a crossing during an inspection.

“This means trains will have to run over the affected area at a reduced speed.

“We appreciate that this will have disrupted your travel plans, especially those on advance purchase tickets, please note that you will be able to use your ticket on a later train today.

“If you require any further assistance or information please speak to a member of train crew or station staff.

“Alternatively please use station help points where provided.”
