Travel disruptions at Newbury Railway Station continue due to heavy rain and flooding

Lines remain closed due to flooding.

Great Western Railway (GWR) confirms many of its services have been cancelled or delayed due to “significant disruption on its network” caused by flooding — expected to last until the end of the day.

However, a very limited rail replacement mini-bus service is running between Newbury and Bedwyn.

A limited shuttle train service is also operating between Reading and Theale, but there are no onward connections beyond Theale.

GWR and Elizabeth Line services will continue to operate between Paddington and Reading.

All four tracks at Newbury Station were flooded on Thursday and remain completely submerged.
